About

Working in textiles and ceramics, I enjoy using colour, texture and humour to produce narrative small objects for everyday enjoyment. My effort is to subvert the mass-produced modern blandscape that threatens to smother the vibrancy of human diversity.

Sometimes I make larger works – for more contemplative exploration but still intended for direct interaction.

Having travelled and lived all over the globe, I’ve been lucky to sample a rich spectrum of human expression. I am fascinated by our stories, and am heavily influenced by folk art and musical traditions, past and present, –  for in them we find clues to the innate essence of our human journey, unfettered by borders and class gatekeeping.

I am the resident artist at Wiltshire Ceramic Studio, and at home in Chiswick, I use textiles to create appliqué embroidery collages in my conservatory studio.
